French Press is one of the most popular methods of brewing coffee due to its simplicity and ability to preserve the rich flavor and aroma. This traditional brewing method allows you to extract the oils and subtle nuances from the coffee beans, creating a full and smooth cup without the need for a paper filter. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned coffee lover, French Press offers you an easy yet sophisticated path to the perfect morning ritual. How to do it? Let's take a step-by-step look at this method!

History of the French Press

The French Press originated in France around 1850, when a simple piston filter was first used. However, the first patent was obtained by Italians Attilio Calimani and Giulio Moneta in 1929. They gradually refined the design, and from the 1950s, thanks to the Bodum brand, it became an icon of home coffee preparation. Thanks to its simplicity and rich flavor extraction, it remains a popular method to this day.

Classic coffee preparation method:

You will need:

6 g of coarsely ground coffee for every 100 ml of volume of your French press

Water at a temperature of 95°C.

Method:

  1. Pour hot water over the ground coffee in a French press and mix thoroughly.
  2. Let stand for approximately 4 minutes. You can stir once more during this time.
  3. Then press the ground coffee down using the plunger and serve.
