History of the Kalita brand

Founded in 1958 in Tokyo, Kalita became famous for its flat-bottomed, three-hole drippers that ensure even extraction. Its iconic Kalita Wave model has become a favorite among baristas around the world. Today, it is one of the leading brands in manual coffee preparation.

Classic coffee preparation method:

You will need:

20 grams of ground coffee for the filter

330 ml of water at 92°C

Method:

  1. Place the paper filter in a bowl and rinse with water.
  2. Add the ground coffee and 40 ml of hot water, stir well so that all the coffee is wet. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Then slowly add the rest of the water several times to the resulting volume of 330 ml.
  4. The total preparation time should not exceed 4 minutes; if it is longer, you need a coarser grind of coffee.
  5. Serve and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee!
