This Bourbon microlot, named El Viejo, was produced by Jose Medina Godoy and Miguel Medina Godoy at Finca Tehuya in Acatenango, which has been in the same family since its establishment in 1883. The Medina family boasts over 130 years of coffee production experience, with Miguel even serving as President of the Guatemalan coffee association Anacafe. The family business is committed to preserving the land for future generations. Finca Tehuya's meticulous attention to detail creates outstanding specialty coffees that display the best that Guatemala can offer.
We had the pleasure of meeting Miguel Medina on our recent trip to Guatemala, after purchasing his winning coffee at the One of a Kind Coffee auction that we were judging. The Medina family owns three farms in the region, and we were impressed by their attention to detail and the care with which they manage their farms. We purchased an assortment of lots from their farms and look forward to what the future holds for our growing partnership.
